The Saint Michael Novena begins September 21
Join us in praying the St. Michael Novena leading up to the Feast of the Archangels on September 29th. You can find the daily prayers for the novena at the bottom of this email. The novena will also be included in this week’s bulletin for anyone wanting a print copy. More information is coming on additional celebrations for our Patronal Feast Day. RADIO FUN THAT WILL LEAVE YOU SMILING
Fr. Mike will be on the radio on Thursday, September 21st, from 10:45 AM to 11:30 AM! Fr. Mike will be playing on a team with two other priests, in a basketball tournament to see which priest team will win the gold medal! Volunteers Needed for Children’s Liturgy of the Word
Anyone interested in volunteering to lead or assist with Children’s Liturgy of the Word during the 10:30 am Masses are invited to join us for a short informational zoom meeting on Wednesday, September 20 at 6:30pm. New Children’s Liturgy of the Word Schedule
We are excited to begin a new year of Children’s Liturgy of the Word! Beginning this weekend, we are happy to be able to offer the Children’s Liturgy to all 4–7-year-old children who are present at the 10:30am Mass each Sunday. Children are invited to hear the Word of God in a manner especially prepared for children. We begin with prayer followed by readings and reflection. It is a wonderful opportunity to learn about the wonder of God’s Word. No registration is required. If you have any questions, please email childrensliturgy@saintmichael-cd.org.
St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry & Clothing Room
The St. Vincent de Paul food pantry is in need of chunky type soups and small jars of peanut butter. Donations can be placed in the boxes in Marian Hall. Thank you for your generosity! Our clothing room is no longer accepting summer clothing items. Please hold on to those donations until next spring! We are happy to take fall and winter items including coats.
Knights of Columbus Earns Star Council Award!
Our St. Michael’s Knight of Columbus have earned the Star Council Award! The Star Council Award recognizes overall excellence in the areas of membership, promotion of fraternal insurance benefits, sponsorship of faith formation programs and service-oriented activities. Our Knights of Columbus chapter is truly great group to get involved in – we invite all men of the parish to consider joining!

Men's Faith and Fellowship
Saturday, Sept 16th, we continue "Worthy of the Call" with John Sablan who spoke at last year's men's conference. Christ is our model of true manhood in his continual love for the church. Let us keep learning better ways to fight for our families and our church. Join us in praying with your brothers in Christ this coming Saturday morning. We meet at 6:45am in the Upper Meeting Room to pray the joyful mysteries of the rosary. The presentation is followed by a short discussion. We finish by 8 so that you can attend Mass. Women of the parish are invited to join us on Thursday, October 5th for Sisterhood by Candlelight. Speaker Maria Elliott will be speaking about Sisterhood and looking at the sisterhood of Mary & Elizabeth as an example of balance & holiness. You can host a table or RSVP as an individual. Make Time for Adoration
There is no better way to spend an hour of your week than in the presence of the Eucharist. Eucharistic Adoration is now available at St. Michael 3 days a week! Join us in the Church on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-7:30pm for our new weekly Holy Hour with confessions. Our Adoration Chapel offers Eucharistic Exposition on both Thursdays & Fridays. Our current exposition hours are from 9:00am Thursday morning thru 6:00am Friday morning, resuming at 9:00am Friday morning until 9:00pm Friday evening. Adoration is available at all other times with the Blessed Sacrament reposed in the tabernacle. Signing up is easy to do from your phone or computer. You can sign up at StMichael.WeAdoreHim.com.

The gift of a Mass Intention is a wonderful way to offer prayers to those you love. Mass Intentions are available for an offering of $10 each. We currently have many weekend and weekday dates available for the remainder of 2023. The tradition of Masses offered for the intentions of living or deceased loves ones originated in the early Church and continues to be an important Catholic practice.
